The third game in the Ford Racing series follows the previous games' setting of competing in races and challenges against other Ford cars. While it may sound limiting at first, there is in fact enough variety in the vehicle line up to keep most drivers happy. All sorts of categories are included from vintage pickup trucks, muscle cars and even prototype cars that never saw production. One of my main problems with the game is that although there are some great cars to drive, many of the graphics and models for the cars lack detail, even though graphics for the game in general are fairly good considering the age of the game. No such complaints for the menu presentation however, which is surprisingly good.

There is a good range of challenges and races to compete in, all of which are structured nicely and allowing the player to choose how to progress. The only other complaint I have with the game is the racing itself and the floaty feel the cars have, No matter what car you drive. On my computer I also suffered occasional car glitching during some of my races.

Ford Racing 3 could have been a great game, but the low detail models and clunky driving hold it back, which is a shame because aside from this it is surprisingly well made. Difficult to recommend for the retail $24.99 price tag.
