Field of Glory - Digital review

By Darthvegeta800 posted 6th September 2011

A veritable masterpiece. Basically this game transfers the miniatures wargame system of FoG over to your pc/laptop. You can buy armybooks/era expansions via their website (and the Gamersgate in the future?). A lot of historical scenarios can be downloaded from Slitherine's forum. The system is fluent, fun and intuitive. Both the game's wiki and the online wikipedia can help a lot. But overall you will already grasp the basics halfway your first battle. Besides the unending list of historical scenario's, the big STRENGTH of the game is the online mode. You can run 20 games at the same time. Submitting online your turn and waiting for your opponent. If you want, you can even head to bed and continue the next day. This game gives 'pbem' a second wind! Current expansions are: Early Roman era, late Roman era. The Greek Era, Byzantine/Middle East, Mid and late Middle Ages, The Crusades etc. Give it a try, well worth it!
