Despite being released 10 years ago, FFXI is still a great MMORPG. As of this day, there are still several players. The play style has changed a bit, and you can now level very quickly thanks to new updates by Squarenix. This is definitely not a game like WoW or some other new MMO's, this one has it's own flavor. The visuals may be a little dated still, but the rich music and great story is still here. Package that with a system that encourages great teamwork and put it all in a community with amazing gamers and you have FFXI!

I have been playing FFXI for quite a many year now, and overall, it has been a rewarding experience. Over the years, it has also evolved from one of the hardest games I've played, to quite a trivial problem game.

It took me over a year to get my first max level, and I played almost 24/7. When I came back to the game, it took me two weeks to get max level.

The crafting system has actually been overhauled quite well over the years, and has even compensated the economy by doing so. It's very surprising how well the economy has stayed intact. However, the auction house is very unpopulated. Hopefully this sale will get new players in.
