Europa Universalis III Medieval Spritepack review

These add a nice level of variation in unit sprites for the Medieval Period. It doesn't affect gameplay, but does add variety making the gameplay more immersive. The sprites themselves are nicely done, this time covering those nations that didn't make it into the western and eastern 1400 sprite sets. I'd like to see more of these covering the more esoteric countries, like the American Indian tribes, the Japanese, Koreans, Chinese, SE Asian, Indian and African nations

Although well done, it does not add much in terms of gameplay. For hardcore EU fans who want to be grateful to Paradox.

If you like EU3, than definitely get this sprite pack. One of the complaints I had before this addition was that the units looked too much alike between countries and between different time periods. If no other spritepack, get this one. You won't regret it. I found it is really easy to get these spritepacks if you have saved up any blue coin rewards.

Medieval knights. When you start as a European country, that's what you'll see on the map. With this sprite pack they just look much nicer. It's completely optional, since it doesn't change gameplay nor the flow of the game itself: it's purely a cosmetic change. But when you want to experience an even more beautiful game, it's worth the money.

A collection of over a dozen historically accurate character models specific to the Medieval period to bring a bit more visual vareity to Europa Universalis 3.

The spiritpacks of EUIII are really nice additions to the game. You don't need them but the make the game look a lot of better. Soe have are really to short timeline but that doesn't matter. If you have all, the game in western europe is great! I hope so for packs of Asia or Eastern Europe.

Completely optional thing since it doesn't alter the gameplay. $2 is a bit too high, but if you can get it on sale and/or with blue coins, it's not that bad a deal.

It's a nice model pack. Goes quite well with all the other ones, but it should only be considered as eye-candy. Of course it does improve flavor for those, who felt original models needed more variety.

Probably one of the best sprite packs, it adds a lot of visual variety to the early game. Now we just need it for more countries and for Muslim countries...

A necessary addition to the battery of sprite pack graphic improvements. This one fills a gap between the Western and East European sprite packs and really improves of the look of the middle ages. Now if only we could do something about the wrinkles and the grey hair.

Nice sprites. The new combat animation looks nice in combat, with attacker and defender giving and dodging blows. But the same animation is also used for assaulting forts, and it looks weird to see a single soldier dodging non-existent blows. Still recommended for immersion.

This is a great addition to an already great game. This pack does what the description says it does, it replaces the bland and generic sprites with several new ones. The units actually look like they belong in the middle ages, not like some boring spear man who could fit in any other historical period. If you want to add some variety to EU III, I strongly recommend this.

These sprites are a great aesthetic addition for any fans of EU3. This Medieval Pack really adds some great units to the mix, complete with chain mail and new animations. My favorite part is the decorated shield each unit carries. The country-specific add a touch of flavor to the time period.

Note that these sprites do require Divine Wind. On the bright side, players starting the grand campaign will get to enjoy these sprites right away, starting the grand campaign, so players will get to experience these sprites quite often. A great way to spend some of your Blue Coins!

Small graphical enhancement for the game. It's worth the few EURO'S I paid for it.

I have to concur about the quality of this extra medieval pack which includes many previously omitted nations such as Bohemia, Netherlands and finally also Germany and HRE!!! This is simple must have of all the released sprite packs.

Considering most of my EUIII games don't get very far past 1600 before I start a new one I am very pleased to have additional and excellent variety amongst the hordes of medieval troops that run around for much of my games. This is DLC done right with a nice low price, cosmetic and most importantly of all they look great in game.

This spritepack adds a little bit more detail to the game, and would definitely recommend it alongside the other spritepacks, all of which really makes the game more fun to play.

This sprite is even better than the first western sprite. Adds more flavor into your game~ (though the sprite for some nations like Castile should have been released earlier) It's once again fun to watch the AI doing their things~

Another nice addition to EU3's graphics. Although the impact is fairly small, there's no doubt that the improved sprites make the whole game experience more immersive.

This spritepack is a nice, cheap addition to the game.

More variety for the smaller states

By Grombart posted 8th December 2011

As always, this is a nice spritepack that's well worth its money if you like to have a better look for your EU3 game. It's a nice addition to the 1400 Western spritepack, because it adds some unique outfits for smaller nations, who still had the generic sprites from the 1400's.

As i have a Naples game running right now, i grabbed it and now have some shiny heraldic armor instead of just white/purple pattern. ;)
