Elven Legacy: Magic

Rating: 4 (123 votes cast)

The era of Elven Legacy is coming to an end. The relentless wave of demonic magical energy triggered by the death of the demon Farrakh has swept the world and has now reached the free city of Sylent. Powerless, the Masters of the Academy of Magic are being driven insane. The Holy Inquisition, inspired by the clerics of the kingdom of New Tixus, acts swiftly to intervene in the seemingly hopeless cause of preventing the world’s slide into darkness and madness.

At the forefront is Alfred Brennock, the Archmage supreme, who alone is mastered in the arcane arts, and who alone can save the lives and the sanity of his Academy pupils. Using the strength and potency of the Sagittel’s curse, Brennock faces the ultimate test of his will as he creates spells of untold power, summons legions of mystical spectres, and crosses half a world in a desperate attempt to stem the tide of evil. But he isn’t the only one...

Elven Legacy: Magic review

Yet another great expansion pack for Elven Legacy. Cool new effects and spells to learn really set this apart from other expansions. Solid storyline and characters keep me playing "one more turn".

I reccomend for anyone who liked the original.

This campaign features a few unique concepts in this game series - which is summoning up units and providing them with some unique abilities. That made a few maps for me very difficult - it was the first time in the series (Fantasy Wars, Elven LEgacy and EL: Ranger) that I couldn't achieve the gold rating, but you've got to appreciate tough and challenging gameplay nowadays - especially when it is in Turn Based Strategy. On many maps the enemy has got so many more units than you, but it is still possible to reach the objective - you just have to come up with a proper tactic.

Overall, it's great additional campaign to the series and thanks to unique spells it makes it worth to have a crack!!

For a small price of admission you get a new campaign in the Elven Legacy games. If you like Elven Legacy, you have to try this one as well. I found this campaign even better than the original, with several interesting heroes to develop and well-designed maps. The excitement of the original game is still there, as are the problems, of course. I strongly recommend Magic.
