This game is a blast from the past. It involves puzzle based game play in an interesting underwater world. The nature of the puzzles is sometimes frustrating due to control limitations, but overall they are challenging and held my attention. I have yet to beat the game for it is surprisingly long, and as implied by my opening line, it certainly brings you back to a time when games were rougher on the end user.

This is one of the weirdest games I've ever played, but nonetheless, it was fun...for a while. I'd recommend playing it if you have absolutely nothing to do, or if you need to entertain a kid. :)

I know what you're thinking: "a game about dolphins? must be one of those lame games targeted at girls that had the gameplay depth of 'dodge the thing' and nothing more". Well, you're wrong. Ecco has great gameplay, great animation, varied levels and enemies, and is overall surprisingly good. Give it a shot and you won't regret it.

The levels are amazing, diverse and challenging when you have to solve puzzles and watch the time (oxygen).

I played it for hours in the nineties and am playing it for hours now.

I remember when I first played this, my mum was the one who bought it for me, I played for hours and hours, it's a great classic! Worth the price. Ecco is so awesome!

I never though I would have so much fun with a game this old. Ecco the dolphin is a real gem among retro games, which can also be played on widescreen resolutions such as 1680x1050. You play as a dolphin and swim in a ocean which is full of other dolphins and fishes (meaning, many types of fish). You get to swim, jump above the surface, attack with your sonar waves and eat the smaller fish. What impresses me the most are the fluent animations and the great amount of fun that you can have with this game. Strongly recommended to all retro buffs.
