I'm not a fan of basketball, but I am a fan of sports management games, and so its from this point of view that I am writing this review. One of the first things that I noticed about Euroleague Basketball Manager is the language - while most has been translated from Spanish into English, not all of it has. In most cases, the words not translated are easy to work out, as it is the names of countries/nationalities, etc. This gives the game the feeling that the English version was rushed out on a low budget. When playing a sports management game, two things are particularly important - the user interface, and also some kind of statistics to tell you exactly how each player performs. Generally, I think EBM's user interface is quite good, as it is fairly easy to move around the game screens and menus, one problem, which has been mentioned in other reviews, is when negotiating contracts, the amount offered can only be changed by 1000 Euros each time. When trying to offer a particularly large contract, that can be annoying. Finally I will write about the game's statistics, and I think in this game they are above average. It is possible to see many facts and figures about the players performance, such as their shooting ability, speed, stamina etc. One thing that could have been better would have been the ability to see previous years' stats. Overall, I think this game is good if you like European Basketball and/or sports management games, but only if you are willing to overlook the game's flaws. It might be worth waiting a few months and looking at Wolverine Studios' DDS: Pro Basketball 2, which, at the time of writing, will include both the NBA and the top European leagues.

I recently purchased the Euroleague Basketball Manager, and I have to say, it needs quite a lot of work. First of all, the game itself is good, finally a basketball manager, great thing they finally decided to make it. But as I was going in the season, I noticed a LOT of mistakes. One of the things you will most certainly notice is the English and the spelling. It's horrible. That, in my opinion, is highly unprofessional. The second thing are the league qualifications and the league itself. You CANNOT know which team qualifies for European competitions and which doesn't. If you want to see the last season's results, you can't. There is no such option. There are a lot of little things thak make the game a living hell, for example, when you want to buy a player, and you have to pay a lot of money for him, let's say 1,5 milion, you can't just type in the amount, you have to click constantly the arrow until you reach the amount. Notice that one arrow click brings the amount up for 1000. That takes a lot of time and kills the fun in bying and selling players. These are the things that annoyed me the most, it doesn't mean that there aren't any more. In my opinion, the makers of this game rushed things, just to make money, without really considering perfection. If you want to play this game just because it's different and just for the fun of it, I suggest you buy it, but if you want perfection, like for example in any of the Football Managers, avoid this game.
