I didn't find the weapons that useful, especially the sniper rifle since it takes so much inventory space. The extra mission was fun, albeit not necessary to enjoy the game.

The most outstanding weapon in this pack, I have to say, is the remote explosive.

This little gadget will be of use more than once and it will pull of some satisfying kills.

The rest of the weapons are a fine addition as well.

If you are wondering about the price, I'd recommend paying full price for it.

The Explosive Mission Pack and Tactical Enhancement Pack DLC bundles for Deus Ex: Human Revolution have arrived on Steam, giving us the opportunity to pay for the pre-order bonuses that pre-orderers got for free.

This DLC give you some of unnecessary item in long campaign and often make your inventory full . i love the Silenced Sniper Rifle and 10000 credits is really good, but it also not worthy to purchase in fully price, maybe you should get it at enough discount.

The silenced sniper rifle and double-barrel shotgun are not that good because the former appears later in the game and the latter can be replaced by the regular shot-gun. However, the 10,000 in-game credits really help, especially as you can buy 2 praxis points right away and still have lots of money left over for other levels. The explosive unlocker is very useful to unlock level 5 security locks especially if you carry around 5 of them. Explosive packages are also very useful sometimes for such minor things as removing junk from the way. Missile launcher is good against anything including robots. Overall a good buy if you get this on sale.

The Tactical Enhancement pack is geared toward the players who prefer the lethal approach, and as such didn't suit my style. The Explosive Mission Pack adds a new mission, which fits seamlessly into the main game. Overall, a decent bundle.

While the stuff in this DLC is quite handy, it starts the game a bit easy...You're given a super shotgun and sniper rifle right from the first mission (not counting the prologue) and 10,000 credits to spend on ammo, armour, even new weapons. So you've theoretically got yourself three or four weapons before you even get to your apartment - plus any weapons you might pick up from enemies (though good luck fitting them in your inventory).

This DLC is another clear attempt to reap you off your money. Not make me starting on the concept of DLC. The entire Deus Ex is not worthy $10, can you image a new set or weapons and a mission? I hope people will wake up sooner than later, because at this pace you will have to subscribe to a game, get a 2-year contract with a penalty fee for early termination… sounds familiar? Stay away from this DLC, the whole game is not worthy your time and money.

Not a necessary addition to the game, but gives it an extra dimension.

A lil bit more of a great game is never wrong though.

Not really needed. I bought it for a dollar (both) and was already 3/4th done with the game. The only thing I used was the unlock tool (for quick stealth hacks), otherwise this isn't extremely necessary. I could see why it's considered pre-order bonuses

Deus Ex: Human Revolution™ Tactical Enhancement and Explosive Mission Bundle contains the pre-order bonus for the game, not being much of a pre-orderer I like the chance to get extra content at a later date, however there is not much content here. You get a shotgun, a sniper rifle, a 'nade launcher, remote claymores, and one mission. All and all, a little pack which you should never pay more than a buck for. NOTE: as a steamworks title you just get a key to redeem in your steam client.

Both of these items should have been in the main game. I definitely recommend getting the Explosive Mission if you're buying the game with a discount.

Small DLC pack for extra weapons, money, and an extra side mission. The new gadgets can aid you in different situations, the money can buy you the Praxis kits in the hospital if you don't have enough money. The side mission is around an extra hour or two depending how you approach it. Although I believed you can only access these in a new game and not any current saved games so more reasons for you to start a new play-through.

Just cheap pre-order DLC. Not really that good that you would have to buy weapons in a single-player game, but the weapons are good and it's a very low price, so not much lost.

This is by no means a must, but it adds to the experience. Sadly, it feels like something that should have been in the game from the beginning. Still, if you can grab this while it is on sale, the fun is worth it.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution™ Tactical Enhancement and Explosive Mission Bundle review

By PandaL posted 8th March 2012

Not a particular big thing since it is only a pre-order DLC. $4 is actually quite a high price considering it really does not add much to the main game. Some of the items actually make the game much easier than it intended to be. However, you will still want to grab it even just for the extra mission.

Useful stuff. Too bad to have to pay for something that should honestly have been part of the original game in the first place (see auto unlocking device, ie.)

Doesn't really add much to the base game. For the low price though it's hard to complain.

The DLC everyone else got for free by pre-ordering

The money helps, the sniper is fun, and the explosives are just for those who like to mess around.

Not vital, but worth it

It would have been nice if the game had given the option not to get the items untill after the first mission. Now you start with a more or less full inventory.

The auto hacking tools can be handy, but you do lose out on the hacking rewards. The remote explosives can be useful even on stealth runs as lure/diversion.

It's the extra quest that made this worth getting for me, but only at a sale price.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a worthy successor to the original game. More so than Invisible War was. From the Blade Runner art style, to the intense stealth and action sections of the game, Deus Ex: Human Revolution will hold your attention for hours on end. It is truly a masterpiece and one of the top games of 2011.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution™ Tactical Enhancement and Explosive Mission Bundle review

By PenguinJim posted 10th January 2012

While I'm surprised to see so many GOTY votes for Deus Ex: HR, it was still a perfectly competent sequel to the original Deus Ex, and worth a fiver of anyone's money.

But what's this? A goody pack with a silenced sniper rifle? And remote-controlled explosives? Sounds perfect to me! Except... unnecessary. The "Tactical Enhancement" pack would be a superb addition to a game where you're in a constant battle of wits against cunning enemy agents in a strategically-designed map, but Deus Ex: HR features poor A.I. and basic map design that hand-holds the player right up to the back of every enemy to knock them out with your fists. There's simply no need for any extra gear or toys, and this takes away the satisfaction of using them in practice. Coupled with the ridiculous amount of inventory capacity you'll lose to these items, and you've got one adequate but unnecessary addition to Deus Ex: HR's main game.

While a rather greedy move on part of the publisher to separate these items from the main game, these items actually add quite a lot to the game. The additional mission is quite enjoyable, and the extra credits are useful in purchasing extra Praxis kits. While the silenced sniper rifle and grenade launcher are unremarkable, the automatic unlocking device can be essential at low hacking levels and the timed explosives can really simplify certain situations.

I do not like when they chop games so you have to pay over and over in order to get the full experience, but given the greatness of Deux Ex: Human Revolution, I think I could turn a blind eye to it.

These two DLC were offered as pre-order bonuses by some retail stores, but luckily now everybody can enjoy them (for a little price). The present bundle includes both the Tactical Enhancement and the Explosive Mission pack. This means you will get all the stuff: 4 weapons, an additional device, an exclusive mission, and 10000 in-game credits. A great enhancement for our augmented protagonist, huh?

Read more and watch videos about the content of these packs on their official website (http://www.deusex.com/packs). And be prepared for the upcoming DLC: The Missing Link.
