Death Track: Resurrection review

I have to disagree with the earlier review who didn't get the setting.

The game itself is based on a prior game and universe where cars with weapons compete on tracks. Like gladiator matches with cars.

Movies like Death Race (IIRC) played on this angle. Earlier pen and paper games like Car Wars embraced this.

There was the original Death Track game out in the days of 386/486 computers.

Its about cars with guns.

It is true to the genre and seeting of cars with guns.

The game play was decent for that setting. However, I dont have a steering wheel controller which obviously would improve game play. I did get through a few races on keyboard but its hard to do the turns just right.

Its about cars with guns. If you like those you could enjoy this. Tricky to steer without the right controller.

Death Track: Resurrection review

This is a very gloomy doom like game. There is way too much fire everywhere. The race itself doesn't make sense in this environment. You race through a city that is burning up with cars that have weapons. We have nothing like this in reality. I don't know of any place that burns city, make a race track, and give its racers access to weapons to kill one another. The whole idea behind this game is gloom and doom with no realism to it.

I got this game as part of a collection. I would not have purchased it by itself. However, I have it, so I decided to give it a chance. The only positive thing about this game is that the handling of the cars is decent.
