Driver San Francisco review

By GGMarky posted 3rd December 2012

Driver has never been my thing. I've never had any interest in the series beforehand, but this one seemed like something I should check out. Tanner is in a coma and in his head, there's a dream-like parallel of San Francisco, where Tanner can drift from vehicle to vehicle, possessing people's cars and taking them for long rides in the countryside. Or you can ruin everything by driving into something heavy and watch the carnage unfold. I've always been a fan of the GTA series and I've dabbled in enough Burnout to know how much fun random traffic carnage can be. This is nothing like any of the previous games, and I'm glad of it.

Driver San Francisco review

Driver San Francisco is good, surprisingly so given the (imo) drop in quality over the last few games. To begin with, this is definitely a pc port which means some compromises such the graphics not being as sharp as other current games, fortunately the game itself is good enough to make you overlook these minor irritations. Key top this itteration of Driver is the 'Shift' ability which allows you to take control of any car in the city and adds a unique twist to gameplay.

Overall I recommend the game to anyone who likes fast speed arcade style racers.
