I really loved this game. It was a pretty good sequel to Dead Space 2. The game looks excellent and is pretty well optimized. Honestly my biggest gripe is the lack of any true bosses.

The sequel to Dead Space is a little more linear and pretty similar to the first one. The same scare-tactics are used (watch out for vents, etc) and the gameplay mechanisms stay similar to the original.

It's not bad if you really loved the first one. If you didn't enjoy the first one though, the sequel is a bit too much like the original so you might want to stay clear.

Okay lets us say right off the bat dead space 2 is a must have for people that love survival horror. If you want a really scare the crap out of yourself turn the lights off put your headphones on and crank that volume all the way up. The sheer mood in this videogame and the atmosphere that it presented was unmatched. And the hand control was very good pretty norm for third person shooter games as of right now. And the graphics will what you say EA never really disappoints you might not like all their games but when it comes to the graphics this game is awesome. Fun factor is five-star for me at least I had a blast playing this game and I went back to beat it again overall just a great experience that should not be passed.

I'm a big fan of survival horror games... and Dead Space 1 was one of the king of the genre. Now Dead Space 2 its even better in terms of graphics, story and controls... but If you just finished playing Dead Space 1 it will feel like more of the same and somewhat "easier", unless you go for the hard difficulty setting which I really encourage.

Despite being very similar to the first game, I still recommend this game to almost anyone and if you have not played either one, you should play both... just take some time between them so you dont feel like you are playing the same game with better graphics.

Dead Space 2 improves quite a bit from the original title. Gone are the similar environments for hours on end, Dead Space 2 manages to keep things varied throughout the entire journey. Weapons still feel satisfying and the creatures, old and new, seem to put up more of a fight in this sequel. Issac Clark gets a voice which works perfectly fine and in just a few moments you feel as if he has always been that way. The story feels much more fleshed out with it constantly moving and having you as a player feel more involved. The scripted sequences are impressive and more frequent while keeping you off-guard as to what comes next.

The multiplayer is a fun diversion, if only for a while. It is team objective based with Humans trying to escape the ship while L4D-style classes try and prevent them from doing this. It uses COD-style progression, so it has some longevity to it.

I should also note that if you weren't the biggest fan of the 1st game, watch a trailer or read a more detailed review. Visceral Games managed to refine it, not change it.

I could go on about this game but I would rather you play it for yourself. I absolutely recommend this game to anyone who enjoys the Action or Horror genre for just the single player alone, think of the multiplayer as a bonus.

Dead Space 2 review

I've played the first game in the series, and it was at times a scary experience. I was low on ammo, low on health and the Necromoprhs just kept getting nastier. But I got through it, and so I was looking forward to getting my hands on Dead Space 2. I started it up, and the first few minutes of the game promised an even more frightful experience. But after a while I felt the game was leaning more towards action and gore than genuine terror. And you know what, I'm really okay with that! The game has its moments where you almost jump out of the chair, but more than anything it's an uncomfortable, emotional and eerie ride towards Isaac's salvation. As a horror game Dead Space 2 is mediocre, but as action this is one of the best games I've played, so I've chosen to accept DS2 on those terms and give it a full score. Highly recommended!

Dead Space 2 offers a few improvements on the original: more fluid, less aggravating combat, six-axis zero-gravity sequences, and plenty of dialogue for the formerly mute Isaac. Unfortunately, despite the upgrades, DS2 doesn't really distinguish itself from the original very well.

Most of the weapons, enemies and puzzles in DS2 are pretty much the same as those found in DS1, and I felt like I was playing through the first game again, rather than a sequel. More effort has gone into the story and flow of objectives this time, but the script somehow lacks punch, and doesn't build as much tension as it should. Isaac in particular seems no more bothered by his situation now than he did before he could speak.

It's hard to decide how exactly DS2 stands up to DS1; some welcome (if generally conservative) gameplay upgrades improve the experience, but the overall sameness left me a little cold. This is a good game and probably worth playing for Dead Space fans, but it's not very ambitious.
