The island of Dead Reefs was infamous for the wicked pirate inhabitants that would lure passing ships into the reefs, slaughtering their crews and looting their cargo as the ships would sink. One stormy evening, while on a fateful mission to a neighboring island, an ancient order of monks decided to set anchor on Dead Reefs to take refuge – only to fall victim to the vile pirates led by the corrupt island ruler, Baron DeSantra. After murdering the ship’s captain and searching his body, the Baron would discover an ancient relic more evil than they could ever imagine!

Dead Reefs review

No mouse support makes this game frustrating and awkward to use. A poor game with a nice game cover lures you into thinking it s a good game. save your money, lucky I payed only $2.48 for it. $1.99 too much. LOL

Dead Reefs review

Dead Reefs is an adventure game which promises so much. The ship in the storm on the box cover is so enthralling, it had me buy it believing it would be a fantastic pirate themed adventure game. I was wrong.

Instead, Dead Reefs is a period costume drama on some island with the subject of the game being a haunted house.

There is a strong lack of emotion in the characters, which does not make the situation believable at all. The poetry that exists in many classic adventure games does not exist here. In one such example, the examine dialogue for looking at a writing bureau is simply "Bureau." Compare that to Broken Sword 2, where in the first room, whilst tied to a chair, George gives a full description of Oubier's bureau.

The controls are awkward and unintuitive, the puzzle solutions are to be discovered through chance with very little help or hint.

This is not a very good adventure game. I can not recommend this game any less.
