Dead Meets Lead

Rating: 3.5 (1298 votes cast)

Dead Meets Lead is every bit and piece of what a challenging zombie-slaying action game should be. Enter the role of the 18th century commander who’s on a mission to obliterate evil, by fighting your way through the island of El Mirando. A mystic plague has consumed the inhabitants of this island and you’ll have to liberate their souls by sword, and travel deep into the island to find and stop the dark minds behind the cursed disease. You’ll have to act, think and move fast if you want to survive the horrors of these wicked parts of the world. And do not hope for any rescue or help, it’s all up to you and you alone!

Key features:

  • Seven deadly weapons (three melee and four ranged), including weapons such as the Mace, Blaster and Hand-cannon.
  • The rage system; the more you kill the more furious the captain gets, and there’s not much that can stop the captain when he gets angry!
  • Sixteen challenging maps with terrain ranging from sandy beaches, to swamps and villages, and in-land mountain ranges.
  • Easy to learn – hard to master gameplay, there’s always something more to learn in DML. Some of the achievements seems impossible at first, but with the right tactics there’s hardly anything the captain can’t do.
  • Eleven different types of enemies (including three bosses); from the common zombie and their infected cattle to the more mystic beings dwelling in the shadows on the island!
  • 40+ achievements to complete.
  • Custom made in-game soundtrack with five enthralling tunes.

It's a zombie slash game set in the 18th century. It's pretty neat for playing in between more hard core games. Nothing to really swoon over, but nice.

Dead Meets Lead is a simulator where you failed Latin American colonization plays the twin brother of George Washington, with a few pounds of muscle in addition, a higher rate of alcohol in the body to the limit and the ability - that comes out of nowhere - to become more big and bad when he kills many enemies. The premise for a game we are all shit. We start by looking at the ugly face of our alter-egos and loggando funny guy - because you know, clones of George Washington zombiefagi meet everyone at this popular social network -. Even before leaving with the game we find ourselves in front of his best idea: a pirate's map is used as a general menu for different options, from traditional settings to the achievement to go to the game chock full of (discounted) references to the era of pirate blablabla

It 'a game complexed, the psychoanalyst has to go because it has a lot of problems. And 'fat as a whale, while not offering much in terms of graphic quality suffers a heavy mammoth, is optimized with their feet, no middle ground. Go ahead: Dead Meets Lead is deaf. We hear a saw and has a soundtrack for this horrible and repetitive. Do not stop there, our poor psychopath is also a pretty boring, has four cross and hobbies are all ugly. But come on, not all garbage when mache people are really very satisfied. Mow the zombies works and the system of "rage" too.

Dead Meets Lead in fact one big, big problem. And 'beautiful as the sun. You look at him and ALL you have to think unless it is a kind of complexed, an outcast of society is, as is a shit man. Boh. I do not know what to think, the packaging is done very well, everything from outside is beautiful. Then open the parcel bomb and you get a Qassam rocket that not even the worst Palestinian guerrillas.

I do not know what else to say. Imagine that this title is so bad that I did not even make him a video - really -. We conclude 'I'm agony, goes. Are you interested in games with zombies? Buy it. Are you interested in games that are humanly playable for more than five minutes? Stay away.

It features a top view and two weapons, a sword and an old style shotgun. You quickly get a swarm of zombies and have to kill plenty at a time with the shotgun and the special moves of the sword.

It reminds me to bunch of heroes style. Good to have a cool time just killing at some spare time, but I guess not the best for an 2011 indie game.

I dont enjoy this very much, its very repetetive and very much "mash left click"

there are a bit of strategy involved, but thats hardly! Usually a matter of "kill a certain enemy first".

Story is next to non existant, Weapons act very much the same (melee ones anyway).

The gunplay is nicer, but since you dont find much bullets... And when you do, better use em all, since they dont tranfer between levels...

another good point is that it is very hard, and that makes it a bit enjoyable

All in all its very Mweh

A LOT of zombie to kill.....It give you some quick and mindless fun. Yeah, it is repetitive, but still when you are tired or bored and just want some instant fun, it is a good choice. At higher level, things will get more challenging, but you'll also be stronger, that's another kinda fun there.

And it is free now, maybe it is not the most shiny gem, but it is still quite a interesting small piece of rock for you to have in your hard drive.

If you arent familiarized with hit and run zombie games you wont like it.

Is hard, and is a repetitive game that requires alot of patience so if you dont have it and give up really easy on games dont try it. I give it 4 star because is an entertaining game and hard, thats how games should be. but really needs patience.

So I download this I play it and I just wont to say this;

the graphics are not bad and music nad sound too.......

But what annoys me terribly is that when you die just play the game again from the start......

I dont like this....but I will play to the end of the game......

There is too much enemy to kill in one time........Dead Meets Lead

A good game burdened by repetition

By adambiser posted 11th January 2012

Deep within Dead Meets Lead lies a great game. However, at the surface it is plagued with repetitious combat, especially in the early levels. Bullets can be hard to come by, almost forcing you to rely upon the sword, which is aggravatingly slow until you've built enough rage. You will learn that fleeing plays an equal part in your strategy.

Once you get past the first four levels, the game begins to open up. The first boss is challenging - since you're only allowed the sword on this level - but not impossible. From there, you get a variety of level types: being chased, being timed, etc.

The graphics and artwork are great. The sound is great. The only fault is the balance of the gameplay.

The game is hard, but not impossible. Strategy is the key. If something doesn't work one way, try to find a different approach, and don't underestimate retreating.

Dead Meets Lead is an awesome Isometric action game. The controls felt very natural to me, moving using the WASD keys and attacking with the mouse. The levels are very hard, and I had to play through most of them multiple times to finish them, but I'm not veyr good at this time of game. Artwork for the game is very good, and I would have easily paid $10 for this game, so to get it for free is amazing. Definitely worth your time to play, unless you are just completely against this genre.

I love Zombie games also I love this one, it has a nice community too, with members who help each other, U can win alsso prizes in this game with ingame stuff;

walking around and solving quests in a zombie affected area is really fun in this game.

And the servers are reset on a certain time so that every player has the chance to be number 1, as everybody begins from beginning at server restart.

Pros: This game has an assortment of achievements, a simple upgrade system and very fun levels... the zombies die easily which makes it fun to pick on small groups but are very deadly in hordes which adds to the difficulty factor.

Cons: My laptop doesn't suck but I found it skipping a lot even on Medium settings... for reference, my laptop can run Fallout on high settings no problem. The text in the cutscenes never seemed to fully play and it would cut to the next scene before all the text could even pop up.

Other than that, I can't think of anything else that bothered me.

Total Mayhem!

It's Robotron upgraded for 2011! For mindless-shoot 'em-all action game, it's a blast! You can't save between the levels but it makes it even better since it helps for a smooth flow of action. The game may be a bit difficult for some players, yet you keep coming back to attack the enemy. And it's now freeware too! Recommended.

The game has an interesting concept and is visually entertaining, but gameplay seems both repetitive and designed to be frustrating. Movement is awkward, you're generally restricted to using your most basic weapon (due to minimal ammo for ranged weapons), and the level design is fairly linear (or at least punishes you for going off course by having you catch malaria or get eaten by piranhas).

The game is enjoyable for a little bit of slashing up zombies, but frustrating as a result of imagining how awesome it could have been with slight improvements (the addition of some RPG elements or progression of some kind, greater/more varied selection of weapons, etc).

The game offers hordes of zombies to slay, and what more do you need from a zombie game? The melee combat is quite responsive, and the ranged weapons are fun to use (though the selection could have been wider). If only the game was a bit easier!

(An interesting bit of trivia: this game won Swedish Game Awards 2011.)

There are a lot of good things to be said about Dead Meets Lead.

1) Graphics - the game looks sweet. Top-down zombie action is clear and fast and when the captain sprouts wings of rage, it really looks cool.

2) Setting - plague-ridden zombie-populated tropical islands and malarial swamps in the 1700s. Yup, it's rad.

3) Gameplay - each level requires thought and new tactics to successfully plough through the hordes of deadly plague-victims - and boy-o-boy is it difficult! This game is really hard! Don't take them lightly when they say "challenging", really - DML keeps the gamer constantly on his/her toes. Don't relax for a second or they'll tear you to shreds!

Maybe I just suck at games, but this one really throws you in the deep end. Anyway, great challenge.

4) Length - there's enough really difficult missions in here to keep you going for a while, as well as plenty of rewards to be gotten by completing specific achievements. If that's not enough, download The Challenge from the Keldyn Interactive website, a level yet harder still than the entire DML game itself.

5) Style - The music is ominous, the captain is a total dude, the zombies are festering and ugly, and the game is polished and clean comprehensive in all respects.

Flaws: the movement system's a bit strange and awkward. It takes a little while to get used to. And also the fits of anger and profanity this game can set you off into sometimes.

Bottom Line: Even if your not up for the full challenge, you'll probably still have fun hacking the tropical undead apart for a while, and you should still buy this game anyway to support an interesting new studio with great potential. For those of you who do accept the run of DML's fully hardcore gaming gauntlet, you will be greatly rewarded.
