Tight controls, fast paced action, slick animations, new flashy moves and great boss fights. What more could you ask for? Devil May Cry 4 may not be the best in the series but it is a hella of a good ride and rewards skilled play. Worth every penny.

I had wanted to buy this game for a year but put it off until it went on sale. Boy, am I glad I bought it! I can't say enough good things about this game. It is a hack-n-slash beat-um-up, but with superior console quality. The graphics are excellent, the story is compelling, the cut scenes are amazing, controls are good, bosses are awesome, and there are a lot of skills to choose from as you progress through the game.

I only played the game with my x-box gamepad and recommend you use of one also if you want to get the most out of the game. Also, you better make sure your computer can handle this baby. I have a fairly new system, but unless I turned off most other running programs on my computer there was a very noticeable lag time in movement.

If you like this genre as well as Japanese style anime, then I definitely recommend this one.

This is not a game for everyone, but believe me, having this kind of game on the PC is a blessing. DMC 4 is a pure action game that traces its lineage entirely on the consoles, and the developer is japanese, so this is really something "alien" for our platform, in a refreshing way. It helps that the conversion is technically excellent: with a decent PC you will be costantly locked at 60 fps.

The game is basically very well crafted beat'em up with some adventure and exploration elements to break the usually frantic pace. Of course there are badass moves, big bosses, oversized weapons and everything you can expect from this kind of games, plus a distinctive japanese flavour.

The challenge level is high (don't buy it unless you have a gamepad!) but well balanced: if you are unskilled like me you won't be able to finish most bonus levels and you won't get all the goodies (extra moves etc), but you still will be able to advance in the game without throwing the pad out of the window.

In the end, if you don't own a HD console and you want something different from the usual stuff, buy it.
