Divinity II The Dragon Knight Saga review

After playing all these MMO games it was actually very good to play Divinity II Dragon Saga. It's an Action-RPG game with really interesting story. The gameplay was nice, the graphic is nice too. It's a good, solid game. Ok, maybe it's not "true" RPG, such as Baldur's Gate or something, it's focused a little bit more on action (fight system is very nice) but I have no problem with this.

quite a good role playing game. nice graphics, good user interface + fight system. the beginning is a bit harsh as the monsters are quite strong but as soon as you can find/buy a good weapon its fluently.

the decision which path (warrior, ranger, mage) you choose does not really matter as all characters can train all skills. i personally find most of them useless and focussed in melee combat. story is interesting and immersive and there are some nice quests (beside the standard quest types).

so overall a nice game i enjoyed spend my time with.

I waited a long time to get this game because I expected very little from it. It is not just Divinity 2, the problem for me is the new trend on action-RPGs that are not really RPGs but more ‘shooters with stats’. I know that a lot of people like them (they sell millions of copies), but for me they are really nothing more than a time-filler, one hour or so. This is why I was so surprised at the beginning of Divinity 2, when I started to care for the story and for the character. The combat was tolerable (frantic and chaotic but with a bit of planning it could be enjoyable), the leveling system interesting, and the world fun to explore. Now, look at that, you can even jump, climb, go outside the linearity of the main quest, and even die if you dare to confront enemies when you are not ready. Mind reading – introduced in this game – was fun, and I was starting to feel like in Risen (a game I played several times, still one of the few action RPGs done for grown-ups). And then it finally happened: frantic battles with swarm of enemies where the only way to survive was to smash the mouse as fast as you can and drink one health potion after another with no end in sight, just mindless, chaotic, frustrating, shooter-like moments. Well, what can I say? If you like the current trend, go for it (although I even heard criticisms about the graphic, and we all know that in new games is all about cinematic effects and romance, isn’t it?); if you are ‘old-school’, I guess for the money you will have some enjoyment. I still rather spend time with Eschalon 2 and its ‘primitive’ graphic than any of the new Mass Effects / Skyrim primitive stories.

Divinity II is The sequel to Divine divinity a great old game from back in the day, which was a DnD style action RPG (much like Fallout and such) this however is a action-RPG much like Gothic or the Witcher. It's a decent looking game as expected from a 360 port with decent voice acting. It's not the best but far from the worst. All and all, a great buy for RPG lovers.

This GAME is the BEST!

It is like Two Worlds but! you turn in to a bad ass dragon?! How cool isn't that?!

You have a Lot of freedom and can do side quests if you like.

What I like about the game is that you chose your own destiny...if you chose to say something bad/good/outrageous ect in a dialog it will change the outcome of the game...not like other games, where it doesn't matter what you say the story line will be the same. (the storyline will not totally change, but some characters will die, and that is your choice)

The graphics are great if you have in mind that the game is not new! the water looks great! The graphics are similar or a littlebit better than Two Worlds (the first one)

The gameplay is nice, You can jump! and I never got stuck in the game by jumping, even tho i try to "climb" on mauntains that you are not supposed to.

The best part of the game is that hmm sometimes you have to think a littlebit...A room filled with poison and dead people, you walk you die...hmm wonder if someone before me has already triggered som trapps?

I went into this game not knowing what to expect. Now I love it, 60+ hours into the game and I am still hooked. What draws me in is the dialog, music, and combat system.

The graphics are not great but there not horrible and the frame rate stutters sometimes but its not to the point where the game is not playable. Also I have encounter no bugs at all and no problems whatsoever when playing this game.

I love the dialog system, and the comedy that they have put into this game. It is not laugh out loud comedy but more tongue in cheek comedy that you may miss if you do not pay attention. The voice acting is passable and good enough where you don't notice anything bad but I think sometimes they had bad voice acting on purpose because it would be funny.

The music is awesome with orchestral and great epic music. The music really helps the atmosphere that sucks you in also. The story on the other hand is sub par. I think the side quests draw in more interest then the main quest. I found my self wanting more side quests and ignoring the main quest because I just didn't care of Damien the evil dude.

The combat system is one of my favorites. Even though it is a point and click game like Diablo. You can dodge attacks and spells by rolling and jumping. Which you will do a lot because this game is hard and kicks your butt. Also the loot system is kind of small compared to other games. I am 60+ hours in the game and I have not discovered many powerful items. I'm still using a level 14 item because its has better stat boosts then all the items I find at level 27.

If you like loot, combat, exploration (lots of exploration), puzzles, and more loot then you will love this game. and for the price it is a good RPG that will entertain and make you want to complete one more side quest just to see what happens.

Nice addition to the original Divinity 2. The whole experience feel more polished overall as well. The humor found in the first divinity game is still present and there is quite a few interesting characters as well.

Good for a lot of hours of action RPG.

After going through and playing the first installment of this game (Divinity 2 ego Draconis), I was looking forward to completing the story. Only to find out I can not bring my character from the first game to the expansion. WHAT?!? That is so stupid. After delaying the release they could have at least made it possible that I could bring my character that I had work so hard on to the expansion. I hear they are bringing a patch. Until then, this game sucks. Sorry. and I loved the first one.

First of all i will say this was a hard game to get working and even now I can't run it in widescreen resolution. Saying that when I got it to run i found a very fun game inside, They seem to have got the balance for an rpg just right for me.

The story actually did drag me in and i found myself wanting to see what would happen because of my actions and normally I'm just interested in killing stuff to level my guy up.

Also there is a lot of side quests with vary quite a lot from the normal kill everything ones and some are pretty funny. The quests get to the point and you don't have to wade through ten pages of text describing a characters whole life story like dragon age for example.

There is a lot of skill upgrade options without being overwhelmed by 100s of them, armor and weapons can have enchantments and charms socketed on them to boost your builds weaknesses or just to do outrageous damage :)

The actual combat surpassed my expectations it's very fluid and its always fun to leap 30 foot into the air and bring your sword down on top of a guys head.

This actually the most fun I have had with an rpg for a long time, better than dragon age, oblivion and even fallout new vegas for me. Now if only I could get widescreen to work...
