Cities in Motion: Design Marvels DLC

Rating: 4 (277 votes cast)

DLC-Bus01, Dino Vettore
The flagship of a North Italian factory, Vettore is one of the largest buses ever produced. Providing comfortable seating in two floors with stairs installed in front and rear, it can a large amount of passengers. Vettore was originally intended for long-distance transport but recently the factory has began to produce a slightly shortened version for regional route use.

DLC-Bus02: Comet Ambienta
Comet Ambienta was introduced to the world in 1995 by the successful Swedish manufacturer. Its design was inspired by smooth forms of nature and recent developments in space engineering. From a technical point-of-view, being environmentally compatible was given a high significance – the result is one of the cleanest buses ever produced with very low level of exhaust emissions and especially noise-abating body construction.

DLC-Heli01: Roto-Tec Leopard
Belgian helicopter manufacturer Roto-Tec was formed following a merger of two smaller companies. Leopard was initially designed to meet the growing needs of providing air transport links to oil rigs. It features two reliable turboshaft engines and an especially robust fuselage. In early 1980s, a new version was introduced with an efficient de-icing system to better withstand freezing conditions. Leopard is a medium heavy helicopter with a nice seating capacity.

DLC-Tram01: Prospecta Experimental
Prospecta Experimental's design aims to break not only the conventions of tram design but those of the public transportation as a whole. Its main features are large windows, smooth surfaces and most notably, the zigzag configuration of the tram cars. The seating layout is designed to encourage social interaction among passengers leaving empty, open spaces in the cars. One peculiar feature in the design is the use of balconies, giving a luxury feeling to the tram. Prospecta Experimental runs on electricity and therefore is a very green choice for the environmentally aware traveler.

DLC-Metro01: Capitol W700 automatic
W700 is a 6-car aluminum metro train configuration manufactured by the combined American-Japanese Capitol factories. It is the seventh generation of driverless metro trains which are remote-controlled by Automatic Train Operating system. To better cater the needs of peak hours, the carriages have longitude seating arrangements, thus allowing more room for standing passengers. W700 has lower maintenance costs than its predecessor models and its refurnished construction provides better energy efficiency.

Most of these vechviles are actually ones that I have used on most of the games. Gives nice addition to your fleet, and kind of an easy choise for maximal amount of passengers per vechvile.

Nice additions if a bit futuristic. Nothing really that awesome but still interesting for completionists. Beware not to use those in 1920.

Nice add on with several new transports, it is not necessary to play the main game such as an expansion pack, interesting for people who want more details

Mmm...not the greatest selection of vehicles, but not bad either. The Prospecta Experimental tram still confuses me though (how does something that seems to waste so much space hold so many more passengers?). If you're really into this game, this set is a good purchase. Otherwise, give it a miss.

Now that's what I call wonderful! Good design. Gives you an edge in the game.

Same as the other DLCs, unless you're big into the vehicles, wait until Paradox has a sale. They are nice additions, but not really worth the money.

A interesting little collection of vehicles.

The two new buses are a wonderful addon to the game, the double decker brings plenty of new options for long routes with a lot of passengers with few stops in between.

The other bus is good as well, as it gives a nice low cost and cheap running costs to the game.

The new Metro is a major plus to those from America, as its easily reconizable from the Washington Metro.

The tram is a interesting and very unique vehicle, though can often look odd when it runs as it looks off set, even though it was designed to be a giant zigzag.

The helicopter isn't half as useful as the other vehicles in the game as it doesn't carry very many people especially late in the game.

Worth the money? Possibly if you want new vehicle models, but little else.
