Call for Heroes Pompolic Wars

Rating: 4.6 (85 votes cast)

Years ago a dimensional portal to the Outer Worlds was suddenly opened, and an enemy from the darkness encroached on our world. Led by a demon named Pompolic, armies of demonic hordes quickly overran most of the planet. The origin of Pompolic remains unknown, but it is certain that this malevolent spiritual being possesses supernatural powers. His desire is obvious: possess the people and turn them into minions of his dark army. He wields his power through his servants, the Dark Souls. The Dark Souls, protected by horde of monsters, infiltrate people's minds and make them slaves of evil. The denizens of our world are on the edge of total annihilation.

However, a faint hope still exists in the heart of the surviving citizens. They believe that there are brave hearts who can save the world from the source of evil. If the Dark Souls could be captured, Pompolic could be stopped and perhaps even defeated. To realize their hope, the citizens call for a hero.

The times when a traveler could pass through the lands without fear are gone. Now at every step there are hordes of monsters with one purpose: to protect the Dark Souls by slaying anyone who is not a follower of darkness. But a great warrior with strong will, faith, and mighty weapons may succeed in defeating them. By building his or her strength, armor, and health, by harvesting the souls of monsters to gain incredible abilities, a hero may grow strong enough to challenge the Dark Souls. Will that hero be you?

Call for Heroes Pompolic Wars review

A quirky third-person action game, of button mashing and odd camera work awaits!

Except, it could have been a little better game. The camera is workable but sometimes it can hinder your job of 'hunting' the enemies.

The story is forgettable, and the levels appear to resemble more an action arena of sorts where you are 'deployed' to kill, and get to the next map.

Could have been an awesome 3rd-person modern 'Gauntlet' -style game..... but it's not, i'm afraid.

Not a bad game, just run around killing monsters and finding these soul things.

There are glitches in some of the maps but they fixed them so that's good.

Sometimes it is hard to track down the skulls you need to find.

Overall if you like a hack/slash 3rd person game go for this.

PC gamer typically doesnt take notice of obscure game like this one but i remember a few months (maybe years) back they reviewed this one. i remember them comparing it diablo. while that comparison holds on a very basic level, it really isnt diablo like at all.

its sort of a level based action rpg with tons of monsters to whack through. you get a few different weapons and level each of them up individually along with your character. the main point of each level is to get these pointy scull things. there are so many on a level and you have to get them all to progress.

while it is fun for a while it gets old. you cant save between stages and the graphics are pretty bleh. it was ok i guess.
