This small mod improve the Germans gameplay a lot. However, I do worry that a mod only improving a single nation might cause balance problem. It will be more preferable as a larger mod including improvement for more nations.

We already have so many comments on this great DLC. If you play with Germany, then this mod is for you. If you haven't played the game with Germany, then get this mod for the ultimate Hearts of Iron experience to conquer the world with Germany.

Good choice for 1 euro. Negative thing - make sure to read the patch updates carefully in order to update the game.

The dlc add a lot to the Germans. Separate submarine technology. Awards for units and leaders. More experience for units. Battles mean more because the more battles you win the general get more famous.

Dies Irae Götterdämmerung is a nice addition that focuses on the greman nation. It includes better grasphcis as well as unique events and units. If uyou are a Wehrmacht fun that this is what you need to complete your HoI3 experience.

This is the only way to play as the Germans. Totally worth it for as cheap as it is. I highly recommend it, even if you have played with the Germans many times. It is still a cool, new experience.

Definitely the best of the minor expansions (DLC) for Hearts of Iron III!

If you like playing as Germany, this DLC makes it way more detailed, and gives you a hole array of options omitted in both HOI3, SF and FTM.

If you have trouble getting it to work after installing For the Motherland, just download the newest beta from the Paradox Forum.

Playing as the Germans has never been more fun. The campaign really is geared towards making sure that it's primarily you against everyone else, rather than the somewhat weaker vanilla game where the AI sees other nations as potential threats as well. Germany gets a whole new level of depth and events giving you a lot more room to engage in historically plausible 'what-if' scenarios rather than being forced into the basic Axis v Allies thing that happens 99 times out of a hundred in vanilla.

A great Add-On. If you like HoI3 you must have Dies Irae. If you prefer playing as Germany you should chose this add-on because it improves almonst every aspect for the German player.

I really like this mod i havent had any problems with it after i patched it up and installed it correctly. There is one tiny bug, sometimes when i build new units or recieve them or sometimes just randomly; the unit sprites disapear! You can see parts of them but not all! However on the whole its a really great mod and adds massively to the hearts of iron Nazy Germany experiance!

Its pretty neat but it was made by the community so i dont think they should be making money off of it, but i mean its only a couple cents so if you really feel the need it wont put a dent in your pocket.

Excellent German add on to the game. Love the interface, the options and the units. It really makes you feel like you are playing Germany during WWII.

This DLC gives a complete and very good looking overhaul to HoI 3 interface and general look when playing Germany. The naval map is especially nice, but that is not the best: it gives several good (all of them german) units, special units via events, a lot of new events and decisions and a Soviet Union which is hard to fight against. In this DLC partisans are a real nightmare. Your supply lines are going to suffer. All in all you really feel like playing Germany is different from any other country.

Paradox has tried do it well, with a lot of DLCs, spritepacks and, now, with this mod. This mod is a good idea, but it has some bugs. This mod is playable only with Germany. It adds lots of new decissionss in the war, like the creation of the U-Boats or many political decissions. Paradox has done a good work.

This was a fine addition to the game, though it's more of a patch than an add-on. Understand Paradox needs to make money or they cannot ever make new games. It's a patch worth paying for.

There's a whole new experience when playing as the different factions, with faction specific technology, such as SS troops for Germany, and special units for the allies too.

It certainly changes the strategy aspect enough to let you play the game another 5 times through, which is plenty worth whatever is being charged for the patch at the current moment.

Boring if you are not playing as one of the primary combatants. Even playing as the US can be uniteresting, recommend Japan or Germany.

An interesting spin for Germany focused players. The unique units are better in common weapons dlc and that's my suggestion if you're looking for a nice packaged mod.

Only wish Paradox put as much effort to all major countries to create something similar for each major. Its a nice rework of production and tech tables. Also gives you plenty of new events and the additional graphics make it very unique.

This expansion is perfect for all the German players out there. It will challenge you and will allow you deeper immersion into German history and game play. A must buy for German lovers all over the globe. Please note that this is a mod to the game that will only work once patched up to your version of Hearts of Iron III and it's a Germany only nation mod. If you don't like playing as Germany, DO NOT BUY.

DI:G is an amazing new German POV DLC from paradox. the game how ever only playable from the German side does add techs to the tech tree as well as adding events etc. the game actually makes playing Germany IMHO much more enjoyable. it really gives you the feeling that its you v.s. the world. for any of you hardcore HOI3 players out there this addition is a MUST HAVE and not something that you should let slip by!

This is an extremely useful add-on to HOI3 providing much more atmosphere than in the basic version. Although the new patch allows now playing it with FTM there are unfortunately still a few not well balanced issue in the game (i.e. Japan not making any process when attacking China). Hopefully these will be solved in the next patch.

Nevertheless, this add-on is a must for HOI3.

This DLC is the most fun you can have while playing as Germany. It's a must for every HOI player! New graphics, events, and even units. This DLC is in fact compatible with FTM 3.05 if you get the beta Dies Irae 3.05 patch.

This DLC is worth its weight in gold. The sheer work behind it is incredibly. And it's very fun. Playing as Germany in vanilla is impossible after this. The game experience is much more historical accurate than vanilla, and even if I like the original a historical approach this gives a superb variation. It's hard to say what the big difference is, but the overall experience is definitely a 5 star one.

And, if you buy this you support the maybe most dedicated modders to the HOI series in al time. His effort, and customer services is without unprecedented.

Buying this DLC not only enhances your HOI3 experience, it rewards some of the games best and most dedicated modders. Combine it with Francesco's Models and Vorwarts Panzers. Even if you already play DevilDread's DICE mod, this DLC gives a different take on the game. For one, it makes playing as Germany less than a sure thing.

If you intend to use this mod with "For The Motherland", STOP. It is not compatible with that expansion. Although the description claims it WILL be, it is not yet. And by the discussions in the forums, it won't be anytime soon. A waste of money. Unplayable.

This DLC is a must for any player looking to play a Germany game. The depth it adds to the game, and with support with FTM making it faster, is sorely needed. Now I hope for a version for the other majors (UK, USA or Soviets)

This extension is interesting, adding some tech, new events, Really nice map, but the story is only for Germany so there is no point playing other country with this extension, no real bonus here except the map. On the bad side, the font used for button is REALLY bad (look 1995). I recommend buying in a "pack" or only if you like Germany for player.

This game although visually different from Hearts of Iron 3 keeps the fun and strategically engrossing challenges. It adds more in depth gameplay for any player playing as Germany. From enhanced gameplay to the Third Reich specific units of World War 2 this expansion pack is great and another good step on Paradox's part. Keep up the good work.

Enjoyable version of Hearts of Iron 3. Adds plenty of detail and a more historical "story" playing in Germany's role. I would say it could use a fue tweeks and a number of ideas arn't fully realised, such as the unit progress graphics showing a units experience. It's a nice idea and visually superb but fails to work as I had hoped it might.

Overall I'd wish for a bit more detail in the game and it feels like a great idea thats still somewhat a "work in progress" but for the price its down to an individuals spare change against their level of curiosity to give it a test.

This mod adds so much to Germany, and really brings the immersion level to an immense degree. The fact it doesn't work with For The Motherland, however, is the only downside, but is really no problem at all.

I expected more from this from reading the write up. The items it adds to the game are good and for 5 dollars you cant go wrong, I was hoping for more events than this expansion produced.

Fantastic mod for an allready great game. The details of events, and the new layout for troops, awards, etc, make this a very enjoyable mod.

It is very hard to go back to vanilla Germany after playing DiG.

Nicely done DLC, that's for sure. A great addition to a good game. Makes playing Germany much more immersive. Adds significant additions to the interface, as well as new events that strengthen the experience.

I see this as a great template for future DLC, enhancing individual nations. While it doesn't do much for the game outside of playing Germany, it makes a Germany game much better.

Well, how to tell.

It is a nice made and well done DLC, it adds a real nice way to play as Germany and gives you some real fun.

Compared to free Mods like ICE, if i had to say, ICE gives you even more gameplay, but lags the nice GFX and some of the events addet for germany.

So after all this is worth it if you like the HOI series, better if you like HOI3.

As it is maintained by a well known Modder of HoI3, let us see what nice ideas are up for this.

I really enjoyed this expansion full out. The added graphics gives you greater immersion into the the time period while the historical events also add some welcomed flair. A must for anyone enjoying playing with Germany!

This new HoiIII fan-addon for the player, who wants a challenging and nice looking german campaign.

The new unit pictures, that will change over time are made with love for detail. To round things up, there is a new (german focused) tech tree.

For me, this is the best expansion of Hearts of Iron III. I enjoyed the ministers mangement, the historical events and the elite units. The submarine campaign is also very interesting. For anyone who wants a feasible historical simulation, this is the best version of the game until now.

For Germany only gamers this is made with lots of love for details. Fonts, maps, events all add up to a gripping experience that revived Hoi3 for me. With the more then dedicated support of the DI-Developers this is a must-have for Hoi3 players.

The only thing I really miss is the support for multiple DLCs like Common Weapons. 5 STARS anyhow :o)

Great add on. Much harder to play Germany now. Watch the upgrades, its not like it was in Semper Fi, where if you work at it can be deploying Leopard tanks against T34s and blowing them off the map. Now you have several more tank upgrades so balance is greater. Invasion of England is real hard since there are forts and troops eveywhere, again a huge improvement. All in all really worth the money.

Dies Irae is a nice add-on to the game, and it´s special in that aspect that it´s only designed to play as Germany.

That means that the developers (actual not Paradox, but some regular players) have made it a lot tougher than the original vanilla game. Germany get some special units that no other nation has access to. But on the other side there will be a lot of manpower problems for Germany when the invasion of Soviet starts. And that battle is also the high-point of this scenario. Soviet has got some serious boost in this game. I don´t wanna spoil it if you havn´t played it yet. But I can say it´s not a piece of cake to take the Soviets down anymore.

The Dies Irae is totally worth the money, and it´s also said that it will support the next HoI3 expansion when it arrives. So if you wanna have a new challenge, this could really be something for you.

I recently downloaded this add-on and have found it to be very enjoyable. For Germany players, this add-on is a must. Please note though that if you play as other countries, with this mod, it will be heavily unbalanced in your favor, as the goal was to make it harder for a German player. The new graphics are beautiful, and the new tech-tree is ecspecially interesting.

The best DLC available for HoI3. Without doubt.

While only focusing on the German perspective of the game (you can only play as Germany), it improves and deepens your gameplay experience a lot, with new tech's, events, details and, it must be said, amazingly improved graphics, with a totally different approach to the original in regards to the unit pictures/images.

I have all the HOI3 extras so far released, and i got this the other day. I have no issues with the stability of Hoi3 at all yet this dlc while it looks promising to me causes a constant crash to desktop within 10-15 minutes. it looks good, but yeah a waste of time and money for me

It's a promising path the one Paradox has opened with this DLC. HoI3 is such an overwhelming game by its scope and complexity, that one of the weak point of the game was the lack of immersion. Dies Irae Götterdämmerung is the response.

It's not just improving and giving personality to the interface and graphics. It's trying to make quite different your game experience, with new units, new features and a great development of events and decisions. What it could be impossible with all the countries, it's manageable with one (Germany).

I just hope we'll find more DLCs for HoI3 like this one, related to other countries. I'd personally love a Soviet Union one.

You should acquire that, if you want to get ultimate experience, when playing Hearts of Iron III. Focusing only on Germany, you get new weapons, new techs, new units (with 3D model to show them, in production window) and control over most potent nation in the game. Wanna feel like conqueror? Then, you know what to do. Buy this!

Great addition to an already great game. By focusing on one country (Germany) only, the creators could really focus on detail, and you can see this in every corner of the game. Whilst the core gameplay wasn't changed, nearly everything has been overhauled, be it the unit stats and portraits, the techs, faction balance (especially against Soviet Union) or a lot of additional events and decisions. The creators are very active on the Paradox Forum, they reply quickly and really listen to the community. Buy it!
