GAME SUMMARY

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3

Rating: 4.2 (39 votes cast)

The desperate leadership of a doomed Soviet Union travels back in time to change history and restore the glory of Mother Russia. The time travel mission goes awry, creating an alternate timeline where technology has followed an entirely different evolution, a new superpower has been thrust on to the world stage, and World War III is raging. The Empire of the Rising Sun has risen in the East, making World War III a three-way struggle between the Soviets, the Allies, and the Empire with armies fielding wacky and wonderful weapons and technologies like Tesla coils, heavily armed War Blimps, teleportation, armored bears, intelligent dolphins, floating island fortresses, and transforming tanks.

FEATURES

Decent RTS that's a bit watered down.

I personally greatly preferred the orignal Red Alert and Red Alert 2 over this mostly because

a) They're not nearly as over the top in the ridiculousness factor

b) They're much more well balanced

Nevermind that they changed the resource gathering to be completely static.

Classic C & C Goodness

I love this game because it reminds me of the fast paced, nicely balanced gameplay of the first C & C Red Alert. I recommend this game to anyone who was a fan of the first game. Any changes you may see will be for the better! Improved graphics, many superweapons, gain battle points during a map by defeating enemy units allows you to choose your own abilities realtime. Great Buy!

Caution if you're a Red Alert fan, this is not the old school Command and Conquer, this is a bit stylized and the graphics are a little off putting at first.

Overall this is a fun game, and is enjoyable if you can get past the changes.

The game is way different from the original C&C. In Red alert 2 the tech and units might have seem odd but still felt like they could really be built. In C&C 3, some of the units are way to sci-fi but still fun. The units are now multipurpose so can be used for different roles. The campaigns are more challenging then the older ones. At first you might not like the new graphics but you get use to it. I have only one problem with the soviets and that is the apocalypse tank which feels like it was nerfed.

It's a big step in what seems to be a completely new direction. This c&c game is so different then the other games and I am satisfied with it. If you have not tried this game yet, I recommend trying the demo before purchasing. At first I didn't like it, but over time it grows on you.
