AI? Are you there?

Eye-candy, mindblowing, breathtaking... until we get to meet with the A.I.! It is unfortunate that such a beautiful game is destroyed by such a retarded intelligence. I also feel like the physics were a bit turned down from Crysis 1!

Linear but improved experience

By jdrez posted 3rd March

Crysis 1 was almost flawed in its openness, often sending you long (pointless) distances between goals. Crysis 2 is much more staged and linear, and it benefits greatly from that. Beyond this, controls are streamlined, which means that switching between abilities is very quick and painless. The story is engaging, the visuals are stunning, and the sound effects give every weapon real weight in your (virtual) hands. If you enjoyed Crysis, you will devour Crysis 2.

Great game with just fascinating graphics even on a rather main-stream PC. Gameplay and handling very good and significantly improved from Crysis I. I like the nano suit upgrades.

Only downside - story gets a bit boring towards last 3rd but picks up again

A great and pretty shooter. This game is no open-world wander fest, more an FPS shooter with semi-tunnel caharecteristics (ie. very closed environments) but it is very fun. There are some great scripted moments and participating in a New York that is going through an apocalyptic alien invasion is highly enjoyable. Recommended to any shooter fan or someone looking to feel like they are in a hollywood alien invasion flick (eg. Battle: Los-Angeles or Skyline :).

Gorgeous graphics and great game play. Missing the open feel of it predecessor but instead providing a more focused story driven experience.

Crysis 2 - Sick Single Player and exciting hybrid MP

By ninjaman999 posted 15th September 2011

With the return of the Crysis series (and its first debut on consoles) many were worried that Crysis 2 would suck. That fear can now be laid to rest since not only has Crysis 2 moved away from its open world-ish origins to a much more linear and exciting as hell campaign of sweet proportions, it has also improved the MP from an Unbalanced troll-fest to a hybrid between the likes of Halo and call of duty, just w/o the killstreak whores and lack of personality.

As an explosive improvement to the original in almost every way (Now with the DX11 patch and a few mind blowing mods) Crysis 2 is kicking ass and taking names in the name of awesome :3

Crysis 2 review

So you enjoyed the last 2 Crysis games? You'll likely enjoy this one. Suit still does power, speed, armor and stealth. There's a bit of an RPG element --- you upgrade your suit with alien kills (alien DNA... yum), but it doesn't get in the way of hectic gameplay. The RPG element extends to the multiplayer too --- being a bit like a class system, only with levels.

The "tatical" mode of the suit seems to take a bit of the clue from Deus Ex (even though it's not out yet --- maybe they went and played the original game) by having multiple ways to solve each level. In the tactical mode, you can see "points of interest" with names like "stealth" or "climb ledge" and whatnot --- alternate ways around the level that may not include killing everyone.

Are the graphics "killer?" I dunno. I have a pretty midrange system. I'm largely happy that it plays at fullres in some settings that include full resolution. It is pretty. I havn't noticed anything that I would consider low quality... but then I shouldn't :).

If you didn't like Crysis, you probably won't be a fan here, either. But if you did... this game is a worthy improvement and sequel.
