For those who have played Diablo 2, this is a first person shooter with very similar game mechanics and the option to play the game's campaign as a 2-4 player coop or single player. For those who have not played Diablo 2. This is a first person shooter, set in the future on an alien and almost barren world. Your character (one out of four possible) has to find the truth behind the legend of the Vault. A mythical or real place on this planet, ready to make you rich, powerful etc. You are set to explore this planet till you reach the end of the game. There are several main missions that are directly bound to the storyline, and many many more sidemissions, that exist for your character to gain experience and money and weapons. Lots of weapons. As you go your way to explore missions (on foot or when you can driving a buggy) you meet interesting alien animal life and abandoned, now crazy, human convicts, and kill them. The missions are of the "kill B" or "get thing X for me, and kill everything in between" variety. So, all of them although different, are very similar missions, at least the sidemissions. The main missions have better variety, but don't expect anything special. Everything in the game is done in such a way to fight all the time. Spawning of fauna and humans. Just because you cleared one camp site, don't expect it to remain empty when you return from your mission or whenever you come back through the area. Thankfully it doesn't reach the levels of respawning of Far Cry 2 where after 1-2 min you had another platoon in place, but still it exists. The good thing about it is that it is so much fun fighting in this game. Weapons, melee and even your special hawk (if you are one of the characters), work like a charm and it is simply fun to shoot stuff. One major selling point for this game is the amount of weapons available. Apparently it reaches into the millions. I am level 27 (out of 50 possible) and about 25 or so hours in the game and I haven't seen the millions of weapons, but I have seen thousands of them. All different. Not always in looks, but in stats at the least. Various damage, elemental powers (special damage like fire, toxic, anti shield electric, explosive), range, accuracy, rate of fire, ammo capacity, etc, generated on the fly. Spread along your way are various containers, be it boxes, cases, fridges, washing machines, contain weapons, ammunition, MODS (give abilities to yourself or your personal shield), grenades and of course money. Money that can be used to buy (or sell) equipment from various shop all around the maps. Different type of shops sell either ammo/grenades and their upgrades, weapons, healing kits and shields. Their inventory change often and randomly. Every about 20 min there is new stock. Yes, there are THAT many weapons available! The game is not without its problems, but it is still a very fun game to play that deserves your time an
