Billiard Club review

By GeorgeC5 posted 30th January

Billiard Club is a game that simulates many different types of games played on a billiard table. It took a little bit of getting used to the controls, but once I did it was fairly simple to get a game started. You start by selecting the type of game you want to play, under Pool you can select from 3-Ball, 8-Ball, 8-Ball (with ordering), 9-Ball, and 10-Ball. You then select the size of the table, and start the game. They also have variations of Snooker, Billiards, and Rotation.

You adjust the strength of your shot by holding down the left mouse button and moving the mouse forward and backward. At the top left is a strength meter that looks like the old type of scoring from a billiard hall. To make the shot you just click the right mouse button. When learning the game you can turn on trails which shows the travel of all the balls based on the current strength and aim of the shot. You can only use this feature at the beginning level, or against a human opponent. I have not yet tried the netgame so I cannot comment on that.

The help screen is in English, but it was not written by an English speaker. There are some grammar errors that make it a little difficult to understand, but overall they are complete. There is one page that explains the controls, and another page that explains the rules of the game you are currently playing.

For the price it is a good diversion. The one thing that would improve the game is the ability to rotate around the table when placing the cue ball after a foul.
