I've played the first two Atlantis games and by far the second one was my favorite. All of the stories there connected a little better then they did in the third title. In Beyond Atlantis II, I found the actual worlds to be visually pleasing but it felt like there were gaps between everything almost like I was playing a few different games at the same time. Gameplay was smooth and the graphics were no problem for my laptop which saved it I think. Like the titles before it, I think it lacked an overall ending even though some might argue that's because it leaves it open for another one. My question is this. If they are all connected, storyline that is, and confirmed by a specific place you revisit again, why is there no mention of pieces of the previous games? I figured it would be a continuation of the second game and if anyone has played it I'm talking about after light and dark became one. It just kind of fell off. Overall Beyond Atlantis II was fun to play, the puzzles weren't to difficult and the graphics were nothing less then suburb for it genre.

This is an enjoyable game for anyone who enjoys Cryo's approach to adventure games. Johan Robson writes interesting mythical characters and the puzzles are very well balanced in terms of challenge versus solvability. It is a fairly tough game but I completed it with my partner without once looking at a walkthrough - although there were a few really tough puzzles that either of us playing on our own might not have solved. The graphics are as atmospheric as in the first two Atlantis games, with even more detailed character models. The soundtrack is not quite up to Pierre Estève's stellar work, but very good in its own right. Two things detracted from my enjoyment. First, the individual story segments are quite disconnected. Second, two entire sections of this downloadable version seem to lack voiceovers. This last point is a particularly serious drawback - in my view it makes this an incomplete version.

Im a big fan of Microids, I think they make the most creative games to date. The artwork alone is always enjoyable to look at. I recall my first Microid title Siberia, I played this for months on end. Im finding it a trend with all Microid games, you are often given a good dose of quality story, and great artwork.
