ArmA Queens Gambit review

By testikron posted 28th November 2012

More of the same but in a good way. Arma was never good at story telling. Though Queens gambit takes a more cinematic approach to the campaign, it still has terrible voice acting and stiff animations. Queen's Gambit also fails to improve on any of the flaws found in Arma. The UI squad commands and movement are still clumsy, as well as the difficulty being both too hard and unpredictable; even on the easiest settings.

Now with all that out of the way, all the things that make Arma great are still here: Huge open environments, organic approaches to mission objectives, The ability to command whole regiments of soldiers, tanks, helicopters, jets, and of course an in-depth mission editor that lets you create your own missions and campaigns.

Queens Gambit just adds more great stuff to have fun with in the game.

Bottom Line up Front: This really is necessary only for die hard fans and people who anticipate using lots of user content. It's a great addition in the sense that it adds additional gameplay. But there really isn't anything innovative or groundbreaking to see here.
