I have played quite a few 1C games on retail before and this was one of them. A sandbox title with an open world, lots of factions and a good story, AIM is an action RPG that is quite unlike many others I have seen. The game has multiple possible endings and as such multiple ways to get there; join factions, attack enemies, trade, and so on.

The game's graphics are quite good and despite the game's age, it has held its own. The gameplay, however, may be a little hard as most of the enemies are typically of higher levels than you are. Typically you start off the weaker enemies and as you upgrade your ship, you can move on to higher ones in a map. Once you move to a new (higher difficulty usually) area, you will have to repeat the process. May sound a little repetitive but the story keeps you going through the hassle. Can't say the same about the music and sounds though.

Overall a good game; deserves a 3.5 but giving it a three seemed to unfair. :)

The game has a very nice open world with plenty of other robots to destroy and quests to undertake. Unfortunately, the game can be rather difficult when facing strong enemy robots

This is another action RPG with a fun twist. You take on the role of a robot or artificial intelligence machine. You go through the game upgrading with new weapons. It's an open world game with a good story and multiple endings. Another thing to note is the soundtrack is really good in my opinion.

A wonderful sandbox title. You're a mechmind, a robotic consciousness tasked with learning more about itself. It can be difficult to follow the story, as it's rather convoluted, but consider this in the same vein as Privateer: you get a ship (a glider) with different stats, you can join factions, do missions, gain money and reputation, take out enemies, trade, etc., at your pleasure. The game starts off pretty difficult and can take a while to get going.

The graphics hold up well by today's standards, and the controls are responsive. The sound is a bit mediocre, as the music doesn't evoke an emotional response and doesn't provide that sense of circumstance.

Give it a try. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Just be patient.

AIM is exactly what I look for in a game. An expansive open ended environment with many interesting if not unique factions, characters, and story. The combat is a fun exciting part of the game.

The only reason I give it 4 out of 5 instead of 5 is that while well made the game has parts(specifically environments/missions) that make me wonder if this game was entirely finished. However that is all speculation.

This is a solid variation on the open world trading game. After a couple introductory missions, you're set off on your own as a robot on his own in a cold, hostile world. If you enjoy games like Elite, there's a lot to like here, as you slowly grow more powerful through trading. But, the difficulty level is pretty high, and the enemies scale upwards quickly. If your desire is to simply go and explore, you may be in for a bit of a wait. But, this game rewards patience, and if you spend a little time with it, it'll probably grow on you.

It's unique and, for $10, quite a good purchase.

A fun enough game.

I found a few annoying bugs with controls and clipping into the land, but nothing that I couldn't avoid.

My main issue was that of a lack of any sort of decent tutorial, which made it very difficult to begin the game. After you begin, the game has a lot of enjoyable features, but there is certainly a very steep learning curve at the start.

A fairly solid open-world game. My main complaint is that it's not especially open - at any given point, most enemies will be far more powerful than you, and you'll have to feed off the weak. Once you've done that enough, you'll be able to afford a small upgrade and take on slightly more powerful enemies. Rinse and repeat. Eventually you'll be moved to a new map and have to start the process over again.

This is a fine system, but it's slow and there is simply not enough choice in the matter. It's strange for an open-world game to be as linear as this. And to be this hard.

The graphics and sound are nice, with a solid atmosphere and a memorable (though slightly too relaxing) soundtrack.

Is it worth the asking price of $10, though? I would say definitely yes.

Picture Elite and the X series... this game is similar to those two space adventure games but there are two main differences. Firstly, all the exploration is based on a planet (not outer space), and secondly, you play the role of an android. Instead of space stations, you have material bases. Instead of pirates hiding in outer space, you have android pirates to battle in the large game world. Instead of stars and nebulas, you see mountains, valleys, and alien flora. Long to do trading by flying from space station to space station, well, you do likewise by driving/flying from material base to material base. Long to upgrade your space ship and weapons, you do likewise by upgrading your glider and fitting new weapons and such. What more can you ask for... it's a space exploration game based on a huge planet. Total freedom to do what you like, or to be streamlined down the main quest to the final resolution. This is truly a great game and a slight twist to the exploration genre. What more do you want? Suffice to say, I absolutely love A.I.M. Can't wait to buy A.I.M. 2 when I am done with this.
