Assassin's Creed Brotherhood review

By Superfly999 posted 4th May

If you're an Assassin's Creed fan, Brotherhood is a wonderful addition to the series. The game play hasn't changed too much from Assassin's Creed II however, but in the same sense the game is still the one you know and love. If you're tossing up between buying Brotherhood or Revelations, go with Brotherhood. Brotherhood has more content and the story line is brilliant! Of course play all of the Assassin's Creed games in order to get the full feel of the story.

Brotherhood is a great game, but it’s hard to wholeheartedly recommend. This is really a title designed for fans of Assassin’s Creed II, as it’s a continuation of that story, but the reality is that people who finished that game want something new – or that at least represents a clear step forward. Brotherhood doesn’t deliver that. The game doesn’t advance the wider narrative very far, the new mechanics don’t really add a great deal and the mission designs rarely explore new gameplay possibilities.

It's a very good game, but comparing with Assassin's Creed II, there's not much innovation. Apart from the new combat mechanics and a few other things here and there, what we have is a giant ACII DLC. Still recommended though, specially if you want to uderstand more about the series.

Assassins Creed Brotherhood is a wonderfull game, as is the whole series. The level os detail of Rome is incredible, the gameplay is fun, the history is amazing and exciting. It is easier than it's predecessor because you can make combos that will kill many enemies with a single attack in each one, what make the battle against multiple foes a lot faster, but also less challenging.

It's a game I would play the whole day until I finish it, if I could.

I've played with whole saga of Assassin's Creed, and I've always liked stories that tell about the Templars, the network animus, characters that come with various challenges, also the first mode of multiplayer, you can inadvertently pass hours without knowing one another it is almost tomorrow, I recommend it.

You can not get this to work on Steam off of Gamersgate. The game makes you install Ubisofts software to play the game, but it does not seem as "evil" as it was. Just getting in to playing, and have not noticed any issues yet. On AC 1, i have to disable my PC's network adapter to let the kill animations work, but have not had the same issue in 2 or Brotherhood. For $5 what are you waiting for??

Not bad but also not great. If you have played AC2 then you've pretty much already played Brotherhood minus a few new ideas, but hey thats what sequels are for. The story seems to drag you along but I personally found myself getting off track, messing around and forgetting what was going on (Although many people say that the story is very strong so its probably just not to my tastes). Voice acting is very good and I cant fault the game in this area. The games engine is the normal console port affair, odd little bugs (Some have slowdown in a few areas even on high end machines) but its perfectly playable so don't let this put you off.

Overall it comes down to a purchase if you liked the 1st or 2nd or if you want to give the AC series a go.

A much more sophisticated gameplay, branching out to economic sim/management genre. still has the core AC mechanics and style, while providing a beautifully crafted city, great storytelling, and the series first meaningful multiplayer. a must for fans of the franchise.

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood review

I was never a huge fan of the first Assassin's Creed game due to it's repetitive nature; but Assassin's Creed Brotherhood really surprised me with a wealth of new gameplay and an addictive set of meta games (such as the trainee assassins and managing their costumes and weaponry).

All the features added up to make the world of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood a really immersive experience, of which I soon found myself spending most of the weekend playing through.

The overall game lasted around 36 hours for me, including side-quests.

The storyline was a rich combination of historical and fantasy elements that meshed nicely into an epic that I will easily remember for years to come. The voice acting was excellent and helped to create more human personalities for the seemingly superhuman characters that the main character, Ezio, meets along his journey.

The characters can also get a little too eccentric at times which can get irritating. It felt like Ubisoft were trying to make their characters as far apart in personality as possible, a working combination in many titles, but just didn't feel right in this game.

The combat felt a lot more fluid than it's predecessors, and allowed for a variety of attacks that were more contextually sensitive, making the combat feel natural and exciting. Over time Ezio can purchase new weapons and armour, which feels really rewarding to purchase after long and and difficult missions.

The biggest issue I had was that the world that Ezio inhabited was large and filled with things to do; but the game would rip you out into Desmond's (Main character) world, which had little to nothing to interact with and would ask you to return to the seat almost as soon as you got back in. This was a little immersion breaking to say the least.

Overall, The game was a superb experience and continued to provide new gameplay and content which I really enjoyed every minute of, right up to the end of the game, 36 hours later. If you decide to pick up a new game sometime soon, check out Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. You won't regret it.

This game is worth buying for its endless fun on the streets of rome. Rome is huge and you can go all over it. The only reason i will not give it a 5 stars is because its very difficult to find someone to play the multiplayer portion of the game with, maybe that is just me, but... But other than that, its a great game.
