3079 review
3079 is a game worth playing if you are in the need of immediate gratification. It comes to life when you have immersed yourself in all its contents and progressed your character enough to feel as if you are a solid entity in the world. This is also where the games draws its line. Up to the point of where you feel accomplished 3079 drags out un-creative side missions and exploration. I felt like i was generated into the world without an adequate tutorial. But in the end I figured out its variable complexity and feel. This game has potential and I wonder if future updates will fix this.

What can be said about this game that hasn't already been said? Probably not much. The game drops you into the world with no real idea of what to do or where to do it. There are buildings around which all have a similar look to each other. Wandering through them you will find random ear scattered about.
Eventually you will meet some friendly aliens who will give you quests. Completing the quests aren't difficult. The hardest part is just figuring out where to go and what to do next. Particularly early on, as any enemies you meet tend to be stronger than you with better weapons.
As for the graphics, well, I'm generally a fan of voxel type games. Minecraft for example can be downright beautiful at times. With 3079 I never had this reaction. Everything in the game is ugly. The textures are ugly, the enemies are ugly, and the UI is ugly. The developer has promised that his next game 3089 will be much better looking, but that does nothing to help this game.
So is the game worth it? Well, if you get it very cheap or in a bundle maybe. Watch the videos first and try the demo as I think most people aren't going to like it. If the demo does scratch your particular itch though, you can't really go wrong getting it. Everyone else will probably want to wait for the next game in the series and skip this one altogether.

I picked this game up when it was still in its alpha state, and even then I was impressed. The look is a throwback to earlier 8-bit games but in a 3D world - you could probably draw comparisons with Minecraft, but the similarities are only in graphics fidelity. This game plays more like a hybrid between early FPS and adventure games.
Gameplay is neither hectic nor dull, and keeps a fairly consistent pace throughout. Some players may get stuck in the beginning as a result of no immediate direction once you're on the ground. With a little persistence, the route of progress becomes clear (just keep talking to friendlies).
It provided several hours of entertainment, so in that regard it was worth the low price tag. While the terrain/buildings/NPCs generate in new ways each play-through, the core plot doesn't deviate much, so in that regard replay-ability brings it down to a solid 4-stars.

This game is a very slow starting and hard to understand game, but there is a nice large amount of loot and variety in conflict, not sure if it is worth it's normal price tag but in an indiefort and sale it may be worth buying

This was a pretty bad game. I'm glad I got it in a pack. While trying to ride off the success of Mine craft they managed to add useless and weird features that just confuse the player and make the game outright not fun.
3079 review
Both overly complex and pointless, the most fun you can have with 3079 is when you decide that everything, including the allied aliens, needs to die. It's uninteresting, rough around the edges, and shallow. Meh.

I got this as part of a package when buying another Indie title. It was a suprisingly good game. I played it with my nephew who loves Minecraft so this was right up his street with the blocky graphics. Looking forward to 3089.
Don't look for updates
While a neat concept, the author has a habit of making games and then losing interest, so what you see in the demo is pretty much the whole game. You're better off spending your money somewhere else.
:(
Had trouble getting into this one. Blocky, but ugly graphics. Purely my aesthetic opinion. Has a very retro feel, but seems like it could be so much more.

To be honest...this game pretty much hands you a sci-fi (blocky of course) sandbox and says have a good time. There are huge aliens, demons, a wide variety of weapons all rendered in beautiful retro style.
Especially with the indie sale going on, there isn't any reason not to pick this up.

I know many really enjoys this, and I would love to be one of them.
Sadly, the game throws you into its universe without giving you some help. I tried to get it started, but to be honest I didn't even complete the first mission, because I did'nt know what to do.
Which made me uninstall and never turn back. Sadly. This game felt like it had huge potential.

It claims to be a roguelike, but is in fact a plain survival game.
You can do a lot a different actions and you can specialize you character to fight the way you want, but there is no story, the procedural world seems a little bit plain.
Plus the first hour or so is painfully dull since you need to find randomly generated equipment prior to get to the fun part.
If your looking for quick fun or roguelikish challenge, don't buy.

3079 is a game I have mixed fellings about. I don't like much the "minecratesque" art style but I feel amazed with it's randomness. 3079 may not be everyone's cup of tea and surely lacks charisma but I think the developer deserves all the support he can get because I'm confident he can build great things in the future. Try the demo to see how it makes you feel but don't forget that the whole game is the work of a one-man team.
A really strange game
Pros:
-feels different from any other game
-randomly generated quests, merchants, and map
-seeing the NPCs battle without your intervention is kind of awesome
-surreal, feels like a different world
-combat between the huge NPCs can be really cool-looking
-random loot system is fairly engaging
Cons:
-quests don't have much personality (cost of randomness)
-can look extremely silly at times due to its lo-fi style
-combat is awful. It's extremely floaty and controls are imprecise
-like Minecraft, you have to look up tutorials for yourself
-alternates between being looking kind of cool and looking really, really ugly
It's basically a combination of Elder Scrolls, Borderlands, and Minecraft in a surreal space setting. But it plays nowhere near as amazing as it sounds. Fortunately it's not too expensive. Definitely worth grabbing on sale for its unique ambition.

A fun time killer. I haven't played it in multiplayer, and I've found it to be a bit hard at times, but I've had a lot of fun with this game.
Don't look at it and say "oh great another minecraft clone" because that is anything but what this game is. Yes it is blocky, yes you can place blocks (though I never have), but there's so much more to it. Try the demo to see if it is your type of game! And have fun with it :)

This shooter has some unique aspects that I enjoy. There are three teams in the game, the most human-like team your on, your main enemy, and the red demons. The gameplay is good just not great.
Not a minecraft clone!
Wait wait!! Dont' go away! This charming (surprisingly deep) game is actually pretty dang awesome. I've dabbled with minecraft enough to know that this ISN'T another minecraft clone.
To be honest...this game pretty much hands you a sci-fi (blocky of course) sandbox and says have a good time. There are huge aliens, demons, a wide variety of weapons all rendered in beautiful retro style.

Very ambitious, complicated and fun game. It takes a few tries to get the hang of it. I love that skills increases when you fail. It makes leveling easy at the start since you fail at pretty much everything, when you reach the late game leveling up becomes harder. A mechanic that should be implemented in other games! Cool graphics, lots of potential and a must buy for everyone who wants a more experimental RPG.
NOT worth it
Unless you're getting this game for free, don't bother with it. I'm hesitant to call it pre-alpha. It is incredibly buggy and very difficult to pick up, because of its random nature and lack of any tutorials or explanations. If the developer invested some actual time and effort into making this game playable, it could be fun, but as it is right now, it's more entertaining to take the money you would buy this with and light it on fire.

Open world (dungeon crawler?) roleplaying game with a Minecraft look to it.
An indie game and it shows; I found it to be riddled with unfinished/unpolished ideas.
Art direction could have gone down a different road; I find that it lacks certain charm.
Is it worth it at this price? Sure, you might lose a weekend or two to this not-so-pretty but still solid game.
3079 review
Not a bad game from gaming point of view, dungeon crawling game mixed with Minecraft graphic style, the game is futuristic in a open-world as first-person role playing game, for it's price you get lots of hours of fun, so since now is on the IndieFort bundle i suggest you to grab it, you won't regret it.
A pretty interesting game
It can be easy to ruin your save so that you can't proceed, but once you figure out what you can't do, it's a really great game!

This game has some good ideas, and seems like it has a lot of openness, but in reality it just feels like it's still in Beta or even Alpha. There are some decent sandbox and RPG elements. You level up, get better loot, you can mine and dig around. But it all seems mashed together in a rather unprofessional way. I had fun playing it for a little, but over time it just started to bother me becasue of it's shortcomings.

So this game is a little strange to say the least. First the graphics though, yes it's the same general direction minecraft went , but it just doesn't have the same charme that minecraft has. It all feels a little patched together and the blocks don't quite fit together as nicely as in minecraft. Maybe that's wanted because it's an alien planet , but i just don't really like it.
Gameplay itself also isn't really all that great, the controls feel quite loose , your character is sliding around quite a bit, the weapons i had felt like paper guns and the character design is lackluster in my opinion. Yes i know that you can only do so much with the minecraft style of graphics, and it's probably hard to make the guns feel meaty , but that just isn't an excuse.
Overall it's a game i didn't enjoy for the time i've played it, i suppose there are people who might enjoy this type of a game but i just simply didn't.
Voxels DO NOT equal 'Minecraft Clone'
3079 is not, by any means, 'X Game meets Minecraft'. It's a dungeon crawler, yes. It's a resource gathering grind session extraordinaire, yes. Is it sandbox? Not quite. 3079 is the third in a series of '30X9' roguelike adventure-RPGs. The first, 3059, was a text-mode adventure, not to be confused with a text-BASED adventure (the difference being one uses ASCII characters to represent objects and creatures in the world, and the other is more like an 'interactive novel'). The second entry, 3069, is a foray into 3D, and is mostly the same game, with mostly the same story, but still with lots of new things to do.
This particular game, unlike the previous two, is a separate story with an unambiguously complete ending, achieved by completing an endgame objective. There are a few 'sandbox' activities like building and mining, but this is not the meat of the game, more like the garnish to round out the dish. The bulk of play involves quests, loot, and picking one side or another of a planet-wide conflict. All the things that make an adventure fun.
Loot is random, with many different permutations of the same item. A pair of shoes might boost your battery recharge rate, or it might boost your chances of finding better stuff, while at the same time reducing your carry weight or your defense against one energy type or another.
Skills are acquired through their use. Or rather, through their failure. Vis, if you fail to pick a lock, you earn points towards your lockpick skill. If you take hits and then take damage, your HP goes up. If you swing a melee weapon and miss, your dexterity goes up. The idea being that 'experience through failure is the best teacher', and 'you can't really learn much from doing something that's easy for you'. To this end, if you want to bring up your skill levels, you've got no choice but to challenge yourself.
If you like lasers and jetpacks and looting and stuff, and you don't like things to come easy, than this is a game for you to try.

At first, I thought it was another of these minecraft clone (and god know how much of them you can find nowaday); but i was wrong : first, the world is quite original (a post apocaliptic planet , along with two faction fighting each other) ; and second, the amount of possibilty is incredible. because , not only you can fight your way trough enemy, but you can build turret, steal a ship , and even try to get invisble. along with that comes a little rpg system. not so bad , just abilities that gt better as you use them....
so in the end, if you are intersted in a good minecraft-like game that can still stand out of the crowd, you are in, this game is for you!
Fine
It's a fine game really.
Might remind people on Minecraft, but it's rather different.
The Art-Style might look a bit weird. But could be worse.
Melee might be a bit OP. But that's just my opinion.
Worth a shot.

All around this is a fairly solid game. However it clearly could have been developed a bit longer and given more polish.
3079 review
Fun despite still being developed as long as you treat it for what it is, an open world survival RPG action game with emphasis on the survival and RPG section.
THE DEMONS, NOT THE DEMONS
So, this one day, I was just exploring a planet, when suddenly, DEMONS. They took my gear and dropped me down to the surface. And there are these people fighting monsters, except the monsters could actually be friendly if they didn't keep running at me with grenade launchers.
Everything's kind of blocky here, like in that one game with Creepers. But I have blocky guns in this one, though I can still build a small house if I want to. To keep the demons away. They always they take one of my items away if I die. I need that nifty anti-demon sword.
The more I shoot, the better I get. I guess that's like an RPG, but this is real life, that would be silly. I'm just improving.
So, get someone over here and help me. That's what these interwebs are for, aren't they? SOMEONE HELP ME OVER HERE.
3079 review
3079 is an oddly incomplete-feeling cross between a sci-fi open world roguelike, and minecraft. There's a lot to see and do, but much of it lacks depth -- the enemy AI is lacking, and you don't really get much for advancing beyond slightly higher numbers. You can build, but there's little purpose or advantage to doing so, and the difficulty of building combined with the unattractive alien landscape will likely drive off many people.
Still, the range of features and unique setting do give this game some value.
3079 review
The comparison to Minecraft is obvious - so similar. The comparison to Fallout is tenuous at best - not so similar. I mean this game is fun and I get the idea but there is so much combat with enemies that are stupid as a lobotomized gold-fish that one just goes meh. Also all my quests have been go kill that baddie and I'll give you something you don't need. Kind of like Borderlands - slightly similar. Download the demo and try it for yourself but don't expect much.
